I'm not sure exactly when this is set within the timeframe of the TV series Naruto Shippuden, but it doesn't seem to matter. Anyway, it starts with Naruto doing battle with some kind of monster, and apparently dying, while protecting a girl. But later it turns out that was just a vision of the future that the girl had. But that's getting ahead of myself. Um... there's a shinobi named Yomi, who apparently is the leader of a group of four other shinobi. They attack a shrine to release a demon called Moryo, who had tried to destroy the world or something, before being sealed away by a pristess named Miroku, who sealed his spirit and his body in two separate locations. Now Yomi lets Moryo's spirit use his body as a temporary vessel until they can recover Moryo's own body. Meanwhile, a terra cotta army under Moryo's command sets out to attack the whole world.

The Hokage assigns Naruto, Sakura, and Rock Lee, with Neji as their captain, to serve as body guards, to escort Miroku's daughter, Shion, the current priestess, to the location where Moryo's body is sealed away. Also accompanying them is one of Shion's servants, Taruho. Naruto and the others have to protect Shion against the four shinobi who work for Yomi. And we learn that the priestess has always had visions of the deaths of those close to her, and she'd recently had such a vision of Naruto. However, he's unwilling to believe the future can't be changed. He also doesn't like the fact that Shion just accepts everyone dying to protect her, apparently without caring about their sacrifice. But eventually he realizes she does care, and the truth is her visions mean she'll die if someone else doesn't die protecting her. She might almost prefer to die herself, but she has a duty to her people, and now that Moryo's back, she's the only one who can save the world. Eventually, Shion and Moryo will have to face Yomi/Moryo themselves, while the others take care of the four shinobi and the terra cotta army.

Well, I don't want to say any more about the plot. I enjoyed the movie well enough because it's familiar characters and all, though I didn't like it nearly as much as the series. Not sure what else to say.
